Leadership Laws

Hi,

Your staff will only rise to the point you lead them.  Are you setting the bar too low?  Remember that you are the role model for everything in your business.  So, what are some of the common leadership failures that cause chaos and drama in a salon?

1.  Complaining, Condemnation, Criticizing:  The 3 C's are a death blow to any kind of staff cohesiveness.  A staff divided will kill your profits and raise the drama factor.  If a staff member needs to be delt with, do it in private!

2.  Excuses:  It takes lots of bravery and confidence to admit a mistake.  People/organizations that attribute failures to internal causes look much better to the eyes of their customers.  Even if it has nothing to do with you, remember that you are the leader and everything falls upon your shoulders.

I invite others to make comments to this blog post.  What other mistakes do leaders make, we want to hear from you!

Ryan,
